Street parking is available within a short walk to the wharf. Be sure to arrive in Chester at least 30 minutes before ferry departure to allow yourself ample time.

Passengers are invited to board the ferry 10 minutes prior to departure. The crossing takes 30-50 minutes. and is free of charge.
The ferry transports walk-on passengers, bicycles and cargo only. Seating is available in the cabin and on the top deck. Dogs are permitted on board, but must be in a carrier to be in the passenger cabin.
Be sure to disembark on the correct island. The wharf on Little Tancook is wooden, while the wharf on Big Tancook is concrete. If you're unsure, ask a crew member.
Our wharves are always at work. It is not uncommon for fisher-folk, delivery drivers, residents, visitors, and crew to be navigating the space all at once.
Be mindful of restricted loading areas, wharf side. Stay clear of freight boxes, particularly when the crane is in operation. Be sure to diligently follow the instructions of the crew.

A reminder to ensure you're on the wharf and ready to board at least 10 minutes ahead of departure. The ferry departs promptly on schedule. There are no alternate transportation options.
